Free Online Self-Education

Let's face it: universities cannot keep up with the breakneck pace of information technology development. Many, if not most, IT professionals today are self-taught -- bright people, like you, who have the initiative to find the cutting-edge technologies of tomorrow, learn them, and put them to use. Below are a few useful resources for educating yourself, mostly free.

Free-Ed.net offers a variety of classes in computer technology ranging from building your own computer to advanced programming in ASP. Though course materials do not yet offer the very latest technologies such as COM+, you can still educate yourself in a variety of important information technology areas.

Informit.com provides free access to the text of a large number of Sam's and Que information technology reference or self-tutorial books.

Brainbuzz.com provides free up-to-date information on most modern certifications, including over 130 "cramsessions," study guides that compile the most important information to know prior to taking your certification examinations.

Not certain IT is the field for you? Take a FREE Assessment Test for more information about your personal preferences.
